Golf in Jakarta is developing very fast. If you haven’t been to Jakarta for a few years, you are in for a surprise. Thirty years ago, there were only two decent golf courses in Jakarta: the century old Jakarta Golf Club in Rawamangun and Jagorawi Golf & Country Club that was recently opened in 1979. There are now more than 40 golf courses in and around the Greater Jakarta area, ranging from championship quality links to more modest learner’s courses, making Jakarta a prime destination for golf vacation in South East Asia. For those who enjoy the big name appeal, many of Jakarta’ courses are world known. In fact, there are courses designed by golfing legends and architects the likes of Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, Robert Tren Jones Jr,  Peter Thompson and Michael Walveridge.
